Phantoms

I saw the makings of a ghost
And perhaps what it meant

To fade. Among the living, they are all
Dying. Their days slipping into routine:
Urgency during most mornings

And the slowness evenings take
To fill the hunger lurking within.

The dark often cancels gray shades.
I heard them conversing with shadows,
Take their closest friends for strangers

And leave without a sound, untraced.
They insist on different visions

Existing only in memory
Studying their faces in the mirror
Gazing back now and then

Catching glimpses. The imprint
Of fingers, the strand of a hand.

The Keening

How is it then, tell me, to truly listen?
It is difficult to pay attention sometimes.
All the noises going on in and out of our bodies.
Maybe it’s as simple as noticing –
slightest sound. Footsteps.
Sometimes someone other than yourself
is there. This is one way to listen:
one keeping still, another waiting.
Little discoveries keening
In their sudden approach.

THE IS SKY FALLING!

There’s never much to say between
The moments of our dreams and what we’ll do
And you’re afraid of everything
That could set you free

And you will always be the one
That stops my sky from falling in
And you will always be the one
That stops my sky from falling in

If you thought this was all that I could do
Would you stay, would you stay?
And I know that you threw away
All you could have been

But you will always be the one
That stops my sky from falling in
But you will always be the one
That stops my sky from falling in.

Emmawood

Song of the day: Emmawood by Buildings Breeding

Something so meaningless burning it's way in my fingers.
After the light that is setting in sumasideay
Kiss off the glass on the ocean away with the ether.
Parting is something that we cannot count on with staying.

Please don't go.
My warmth will radiate the heat when you are cold.
You should know
my heart will remain in me, for you, whole.
I'm already yours.
